- At GW, all medical dermatology clinics serve as continuity clinics as patients are specifically booked under individual residents. Residents are on a rotational schedule with all faculty members for clinical and educational oversight. Residents rotate in several specialty clinics including: the Acute Dermatology clinic and Supportive Oncoderm clinic with Dr. Adam Friedman, CTCL clinic with Drs. Joseph Zahn and Frank Glass, Mohs and the High-Risk Skin Cancer clinic with Dr. Vishal Patel, Atopic Dermatitis clinic and Patch Testing clinic with Dr. Jonathan Silverberg, and surgery clinic with Drs. Vishal Patel and Lawrence Green.
- Residents serve on the inpatient consult service on a rotational basis with Dr. Karl Saardi, Director of the inpatient consult service. Each consult service rotation lasts three months.
- Resident cosmetic clinic rotations are incorporated into the resident rotations all three years. In addition, Dr. Keaney gives the residents cosmetic dermatology lectures, followed by live patient demos and hands on teaching. Beginning October 2020 the residents will also have cosmetic clinic with Dr. Pooja Sodha.
- Resident dermatopathology rotations are incorporated into the resident rotations all three years. First and second year residents have two weeks dedicated to dermatopathology; third years are alloted a full month to dermatopathology.
- Second and third year residents are given the opportunity to complete an elective rotation or pursue research at a nonaffiliated institution within the United States or abroad. This elective is allowed to be up to four weeks in duration. Previous elective rotations have included: Health Policy Elective (Dr. Elizabeth Robinson) and ABC News, New York Elective (Dr. Angelo Landriscina).
